The Idea Center is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting teaching and learning in higher ed. The Texas Collaborative for Teaching Excellence has an article, Professional Development Module on Teaching Techniques, that is a gold mine for active/collaborative/participatory teaching techniques. In keeping with ACRL's green initiatives, the unCOILed workshop is attempting to reduce its carbon footprint by asking participants to bring their own name tags from work or from another conference or one that you have made yourself (with recycled parts!).
